The 62nd Annual Benefit Gala, Moonlight Oasis, was held on October 21, 2017. The event raised $860,000 to benefit the Violence Prevention Program at Swedish Hospital.
Swedish Hospital developed the Violence Prevention Program in 2015 to strengthen the hospital’s capacity to identify and respond to patients affected by domestic violence, human trafficking and sexual assault. Violence is a health issue with far-reaching physical and psychological consequences. Healthcare providers are in a unique position to respond to survivors of these forms of violence. Since the program’s inception, more than 900 medical providers and staff have been trained and more than 660 victims have been identified and assisted.
