The Swedish Covenant Hospital Women’s Board has a long standing tradition of service. The Women’s Board grew out of the Service Guild, which was founded in 1955 as a fundraising organization providing both hospital and community service. The major focus of the Service Guild was the production of the annual hospital Gala, in which they partnered with the medical staff. The Service Guild was recognized as a major contributor to the outreach of the hospital.
In 2000 the name changed and the Women’s Board was formed with a similar goal: to advance the mission, vision and work of Swedish Covenant Hospital with an emphasis on women and children. Today the Women’s Board is made up of nearly 40 volunteers.
