Associates’ Board

The Swedish Hospital Associates’ Board consists of young professionals who want to make a difference in Swedish Hospital. This dynamic group raises funds, increases public awareness and performs community service.

I have been a member of Associates’ Board for the past four years and president for the past two years. I have been fortunate to develop and strengthen many professional relationships through my association with the Board.  The Associates’ Board is great for young professionals who want to get involved and give back to their communities, while simultaneously growing their professional network.

Fundraising

Associates’ Board Supports the Food Connections Program

The Swedish Hospital Associates’ Board voted that their 2023 fundraising efforts will support Swedish Hospital’s Food Connections Program. Food Connections, the Swedish Hospital initiative to address food insecurity that launched in 2020, was born out of a need to address food insecurity in the Swedish service area. With funding from the Foundation to support first year operating expenses, including a full time coordinator position, we have begun to understand the effect of food insecurity on our patients, pilot some food access programs, as well as lay a foundation for future interventions. Alongside Swedish’s inter-disciplinary Nutrition Committee, Food Connections is not only committed to elevating the role nutrition plays in care at Swedish, but to specifically address food access barriers for our patients, community, and staff. This requires a portfolio of solutions - tailored to different practice settings and populations - that not only encourages proper nutrition, but offers immediate and long-term support to connect food insecure patients, community members, and Swedish staff to the healthy food they need to thrive. Below are Food Connection’s strategic pillars that are integrated into all aspects of our work:
